Life...is recalling a sad awakening on a train at dawn: having seen the uncertain light outside...
The works of Pierluigi de Lutti are essentially the expression of a pictorial act, which nevertheless takes on a different meaning within the evolution of SandroPenna his . . . Ianguage, marked by his cycles of expression. In particular, one word characterises this path of his: immediacy...

Pierluigi de Lutti - Contaminate cromie
Giorgio Segato
The painted wall and canvas linee always been the subjects of exptoration, verification, and elaboration of visual memory, of our looking at things and of our inner look, of the memory of the emotional flow. Thus, now painting becomes tale, more or less detailed description, more or less enriched with sensorial experience; or it is the lyrical synthesis of the atmospheres of sentiment and its hues, with no icons...

Pierluigi de Lutti - L'attuale spiritualismo
Galleria Orler, Venezia
Tèchne Editore
The art of Pierluigi de Lutti, who demonstrates an inspirational impetuosity which certainly does not betray his true age, would seem to promise still further evolutions. The final passage from figurative art, though already disunited in its cadence by the clear non-camouflaged inclination of Nordic and naturalistic Expressionism of De Stael to the abstraction of "informal lyrical" as de Lutti himself correctly classified it, came about at the turn of the century. On that occasion de Lutti was not in fact heading down a blind alley but indeed following a formal path with precedents that had already been widely classified by the critics, international Non-figurative art with Abstract Expressionism being first and foremost...

Pierluigi de Lutti - Double wonds
Franco Savadori
The multiple wounds of a violated civilization
I dedicated a long time and devoted a great deal of energy - pointed out Pierluigi de Lutti - to developing the Double Wounds subject in an adequate way. With the elapsing of time, this tendency ended up acquiring deeper and deeper values, complex values, full of references and sources of ideas". At the beginning of this path, that is, on the days immediately after the appalling September llth 2001 tragedy, Pierluigi de Lutti, as thousands of other artists, felt he impulse of relieving tension through the cathartic act of creation...

Pierluigi de Lutti - Fra memoria e monito
Paolo Levi
Poligrafiche San Marco
Several colour lays are applied by his experienced hand, and are meant to find the most entangling transparencies. They actually enclose invisible preciousness: accords which de Lutti builds up with acuity, like the lines of a poem or the notes of a song.

Pierluigi de Lutti - Riflessi informali
Vittorio Sgarbi
Poligrafiche San Marco
It's a real pleasure writing again about a serious and scrupulous artist as Pierluigi de Lutti, and such a short time after publishing an essay about his works. In that occasion, talking about de Lutti's art, I foretold "new evolutions, (...) new surprises, looking far new lyrical horizons unforeseeable today".I don't consider foretelling as a skill of a critic, and neither of a scholar. VVhen i received that letter from de Lutti in which the artist asked me to write this new introduction and alluded to the realization of new artworks inspired to "Spiritualism", I confess I believed I had been prophetic...

Pierluigi de Lutti - Passagges to North East

Sometimes the word painting does not suit an artist, becoming a conventional expression that has nothing to do in reality with a lot of experimentations; in these contests the using of the colour does not correspond to the classical canons of the pigment layout on the canvas with a brush or a spatula, but sometimes fancifully bizarre, and sometimes also ingenious, where the pictorial matter is spurious or mixed with different substances....

Pierluigi de Lutti - Torri
Paolo Rizzi
Franco Savadori
A black stain is fearfully expanding on the dark background. Here is a red, contrasting dart, almost like a blood stream. Then a veil of azure fog breaks out and the "climate" calms down, amidst the starting of a few sheer white figures. It is as though a wise director moved Pierluigi de Lutti?s painting, making it lively, vibrating, continuously moving before our amazed eyes...
